THERAPEUTIC ONSEN PAIRING

Myoban Yunosato + Hyotan Onsen
It’s like a "shampoo & rinse" course for your skin.
Soak in these complementary onsens in this order on the same day for a luxurious beauty boost!

HYOTAN ONSEN

Hyotan Onsen is a rare gem even among Japanese onsens. Its gentle acidity aligns with the skin's natural pH, and its metasilicic acid content greatly exceeds the average level. After a soak, you’ll enjoy soft, hydrated skin with a lasting glow.

MYOBAN YUNOSATO

The acidic sulfur spring at Myoban Yunosato purifies
the skin and effectively removes oil, dirt, and dead cells. Its milky white water also provides antibacterial and toning benefits, making it a luxurious beauty treatment.

KANNAWA AREA

Kannawa Area retains the nostalgic charm of an old-fashioned hot spring town, with its captivating retro townscape. It is also home to Beppu's famous "Hell Tour," where visitors can witness the awe-inspiring sight of hot springs gushing out with boiling steam, bubbling mud, and scalding hot water. The sight of steam rising from the ground creates a dramatic landscape truly worthy of being called "hell". In 2012, the Kannawa Area, as part of "Beppu's Onsen Steam Rising," was designated a National Important Cultural Landscape.

MYOBAN AREA

Myoban Area, the highest of Beppu’s Eight Hot Springs, offers a captivating atmosphere. For more than 300 years, this area has been producing "Yunohana" (mineral salts from the hot spring). The thatched-roof Yunohana huts, stacked stone walls, and the sight of hot spring steam rising all contribute to the area's designation as a National Important Cultural Landscape. Furthermore, the unchanged techniques used to harvest Yunohana have been recognized as a National Intangible Folk Cultural Asset. This timeless craft is still cherished today.
